A report on Sunday has claimed that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich would be seeking more than £2billion for the west London club, and had hired the same US specialist who helped broker the sale of 13 per cent of Manchester City to Chinese investors in 2015.
The New York organisation has previously helped Manchester City secure an investment of £265m from China Media Capital through the sale of a 13 per cent stake in the club was mention in the Chelsea sales report.
That deal valued Chelsea at £1.9billion as a whole, with Chelsea’s Russian owner wanting to top that.
Investment in the playing squad following the arrival of Maurizio Sarri this summer – the fourteenth of Abramovich’s tenure at Chelsea and it is expected to continue in both the winter and summer transfer windows, in what is an already overly-competitive market will suggest otherwise.
However, report have learned from a club source that nothing has changed at Stamford Bridge, and that Chelsea football club is not up for sale at the present time.
