The five-man shortlist for the Golden Boy award 2018 has been confirmed: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Matthijs de Ligt Justin Kluivert, Patrick Curtone, Vinícius Júnior are the nominees.
The biggest news is that current award holder Kylian Mbappe who was initially on the 20 man shortlist did not make the top five.
Liverpool's Trent Alexsander-Arnold is set to be favourite to win the award in the absence of Mbappe having recorded a meteoric rise in the year under review.
Ac Milan's Patrick Curtone is also a favourite for the award having carved a niche for himself for the Serie A side.
The Golden boy award is an award given out to the best u-21 player in the World and past winners include; Pato, Fabregas, Martial, Rooney to name a few.
