UCL: Ronaldo Grabs Hat Trick, Steers Juventus To Quarterfinals

0

Juventus overcame a 2-0 first leg deficit to thrash Atletico Madrid 3-0 in the reverse fixture Tuesday night to advance to the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League with all three goals scored by Cristiano Ronaldo.

A fourth minute goal by Giorgio Chielinnii was ruled out as Cristiano Ronaldo impeded Atletico Madrid keeper Jan Oblak in the build up.

Juve however made it 1-0 in the 27th minute through Ronaldo who was at the end of a Federico Bernardeschi cross.

The former Real Madrid star doubled the lead in the 48th minute as the goal line technology confirmed the ball had crossed the line.

Alvaro Morata went close to grabbing a goal for Atletico but it was the Turin giants who grabbed an 85th minute back breaking goal with a Ronaldo penalty handing the Italian side the advantage.

The third goal became Ronaldo’s 25th goal in 33 matches against Atletico.
