African side Egypt were impressive in their world cup tune up match against South American side Columbia despite the absence of Mohammed Salah.

France showed their World Cup credentials by getting past Italy in a friendly with Dembele scoring a wonder goal.

South Korea were beaten 3-1 by Bosnia with Edin Visca scoring a hat-trick.

Visca scored for  the visitors  in the 28th minute.

Lee Jae-Sung found a reply almost immediately as he dinked in their equaliser.

On the stroke of half-time, Visca scored with an incisive finish before completing his hat-trick by hammering his volley into the top corner with just over 10 minutes remaining.

Mohamed Salah-less Egypt played out a 0-0 draw with Colombia in Cairo, with the visitors enjoying more of the play but unable to find a way through a determined back-line.

Radamel Falcao and James Rodriguez missed first-half chances for the South American side, before Ramadan Sobhi was denied by a fine David Ospina save just before the break.

The second half failed to produce moments of note, as Egypt readied themselves for starting their campaign on the second day of the tournament, on June 15.

Barcelona centre-back Samuel Umtiti grabbed the opening goal after eight minutes from the rebound from a Kylian Mbappe shot, before Antoine Griezmann added a second from the penalty spot following a foul on Lucas Hernandez by Rolando Mandragora.

Italy cut the deficit before the break when Leonardo Bonucci followed up after Hugo Lloris failed to deal with a Mario Balotelli free-kick, but Dembele sealed victory on 63 minutes, curling a sublime first-time shot into the top corner minutes after he had been denied by the post.
