                            GOAL
              Anthony Lopes (Lyon)

Lyon defeated RB Leipzig 2-0 away and goalkeeper Anthony Lopes was in great form. Lopes made two claims of the ball and four saves including two from Timo Werner.

                      DEFENCE

Carlos Cuesta (Genk)
Belgian Pro League champions Genk held Napoli to a 0-0 draw on Wednesday evening.

Genk’s Carlos Cuesta produced two defensive tackles, five clearances, blocked four shots and made one interception. To cap it, he made a goal line clearance to deny the Serie A giants a slim win.

Fikayo Tomori (Chelsea)

Nigerian born Fikayo Tomori who has been handed a maiden call up to the England squad had a wonderful individual performance for Chelsea on Wednesday as they pipped Lille 2-1.

Tomori assisted Tammy Abraham’s goal and defensively had one of his best Chelsea matches with five tackles made, one interception and four aerial duels won.

      Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid)

The Real Madrid captain scored the first goal in their comeback 2-2 draw against Club Brugge.

Overall his defensive stats were good – two tackles, two interceptions and two clearances against a Brugge attack led by Nigerian striker Emmanuel Bonaventure Dennis who scored his team’s two goals.

     Juan Cuadrado (Juventus)

The winger was shunted to the right back spot and he didn’t disappoint in the adopted position as Juventus thrashed Bayer Leverkusen 3-0.

Cuadrado made two tackles, three interceptions and two clearances.

. MIDFIELD
Ashraf Hakimi (Borussia Dortmund)

Moroccan international Ashraf Hakimi grabbed Borussia Dortmund’s two goals in their 2-0 away win over Slavia Prague that paraded Nigeria striker Peter Olayinka.

Donny Van De Beek (Ajax)

Elegant midfield prodigy Donny Van De Beek scored a great piece of individual goal as Ajax run riot by defeating Valencia 3-0.

Thomas Partey (Atletico Madrid)

Ghana’s Thomas Partey had a good evening in the colours of Atletico Madrid who won 2-0 against Locomotiv Moscow.

Partey was however yellow carded in the away game for the Spanish side.

     ATTACK

Serge Gnabry (Bayern Munich)

Four goals hero Serge Gnabry predictably makes our Team of the Match day 2 as Bayern Munich pummeled Tottenham Hotspur 7-2 at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

All Gnabry’s goals against the team he once played against as an Arsenal player all came in the second half.

      Luis Suarez (Barcelona)

Luis Suarez scored a brace for Barcelona as they came from a goal down to defeat Inter Milan 2-1 at the Camp Nou.

Suarez linked up superbly with Lionel Messi who only recently was a doubt for the match.

     Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)

Egypt superstar Mohamed Salah scored twice as Liverpool survived a scare from Austrian side Salzburg (Sadio Mane’s former club) who initially came from three goals down to hold the Reds 3-3 before a late goal undid their good work.
