Paris Saint Germain are keen to offload Brazilian forward Neymar jnr as a couple of European heavyweights like Barcelona (former club), Real Madrid and Juventus show interest in signing him.
With injuries ravaging Barcelona forwards, and the sale and loan of Malcolm to Zenith Saint Petersburg and Bayern Munich respectively, Barcelona are hoping that the one time Santos FC of Brazil star returns to Camp Nou before the September 2 transfer deadline day.
However Izuchukwu Okosi believes there are four reasons why Neymar should consider a move to Real Madrid.
(1); Out of Messi’s shadow at Barcelona
Whilst at Barcelona, Neymar saw himself (and perhaps rightly so due to his world class talent) as being too good to play a second fiddle to Lionel Messi who is arguably the greatest player of this generation.
That led to his move to PSG but the relationship between club and player have gone from bad to worse ostensibly due to the lifestyle (outside football) of the gifted Brazilian.
Furthermore the presence of France World Cup winner Kylian Mbappe at PSG means Neymar still has superstars to contend with – Edison Cavani is also one of the big stars at PSG – another battle on Neymar’s hands.
No player will seemingly outshine Messi at Barcelona before he retires so Neymar will continue to play second fiddle at the club he acrimoniously left for fellow big club PSG.
(2) Less Pressure At Real Madrid;
Real Madrid will be a better destination for Neymar because he will not be solely depended upon to bring the goods for the most successful European club.
Madrid have got Eden Hazard, Karim Benzema, Isco and even the much maligned Gareth Bale for inspiration and moments of magic.
Madrid is a club hoping to reclaim their dominance in Europe, not so many people expect them to lift the La Liga and that tempered expectations could bode well for Madrid.
(3) PSG Willing To Do Business With Real Madrid Than Barcelona;
Due to the animosity of Neymar’s move to PSG from Barcelona, Real Madrid stand a better chance to snap the Brazilian star.
Real Madrid chieftains have already travelled to Paris and are willing to offer three players for Neymar.
(4) Better Endorsement Deals And Image Rights
A move to Real Madrid will be better for Neymar on the publicity front.
Due to obvious reasons, a return to Barcelona might not guarantee him the best of deals with endorsements which is a huge aspect of footballers’ incomes these days.
A good case of ‘good name is better than riches’.
Neymar will do well to sign for Real Madrid but with the caveat that he changes his ways of life outside the pitch.
