Highly sought after Playmaker Nabil Fekir has decided to remain cryptic about his future as he says his focus is currently on the World Cup.

Fekir who scored over 20 goals in all competitions for Lyon was close to completing a move to Liverpool according to reports before the World Cup.

The transfer negotiations did break down with Lyon confirming that negotiations happened but never materialized.

Fekir is in Russia representing France at the World Cup and he came on as a substitute in the match against Australia which France won 2-1.

Speaking for the first time after all the transfer issues and rumours, Fekir had this to say;

“I am here with France, I am happy, and I am not here to discuss my personal situation”.

“We will see about all that later,” the playmaker said during a France press conference on Tuesday morning”

“It was great to see [Lyon president] Jean-Michel Aulas yesterday at [World Cup base] Istra but we did not at all discuss my situation at Lyon.”

Fekir suffered a cruciate ligament rupture in September 2015 and was out as recently as February with a knee contusion, which kept him sidelined for a month.

However, the Lyon captain insists his knee feels as strong as it did before the initial big injury: “My knee is super-good. We work a lot on it, we reinforce it. But I honestly feel like before my injury.”
