PSG still local Champions
Ousted by Barcelona in the Champions League last Year, ousted by Real Madrid in this year’s Champions league, the story of Big spending Paris Club that boasts the Most Expensive player in the world Neymar.
Yet again, PSG have fallen short when it comes to standing up against Europe’s big boys in the ChampionsLeague.
PSG did look the part when they thrashed Bayern Munich 3-0 earlier in the group stage and got Carlo Ancelotti fired as coach of Bayern Munich.
But as push came to shove, when it mattered most to put good use of the over 20 group stage goals they scored in the round of 16 against a Real Madrid side that have struggled in the Spanish La Liga this season and ousted by Leganes in the Copa Del Rey, the French side fell flat on their feet losing 3-1 in Spain with Neymar and losing 2-1 at home in France without the Brazilian poster boy.
The 2017/2018 Failures of PSG in the Champions League despite recruiting Neymar and Mbappe bolstering a squad that other European teams were already jealous of their sqaud depth further strengthens them as a local Champion.
Back home in the French league, Neymar and co have bullied every other team in their league just like it was 2 seasons ago and in the famous Zlatan Ibrahimovic Era.
PSG need to step up the plate in the Champions League and understand that doing well in Europe is not by beating Dijon 8-0, it’s not by having two tops stars like Neymar and Cavani arguing and getting upset on the issue of penalty taker first choice.
All the elements to doing well and earningeveryone’s respect in Europe resides in PSG, they have the best players in the world in every department of football.
Till next Champions League season again before we get to assess PSG against Europe’s elites once more, but for now, they remain local Champions.
